Today's Lesson: Seize the Laughter

(I woulda posted the Latin equivalent to “Seize the Laughter” (in the vein of “Carpe Diem”) but it apparently doesn’t exist.)
Anyway, I was diggin' thru youtube.com Sunday hunting down comedy in an effort to overcome my sadness that Alabama got beat by Georgia in OT on Sat. by one of the nicest passes I’ve seen so far this year when I stumbled across this Frank Caliendo promo clip again. And watching him a) made me laugh, but b) made me think of Mitch Hedberg, a great comedian who died too young.

And THAT made me want to impress upon myself, and you, to do what you can to make living as much fun as it should be. And while we all get our chuckles every once in a while, I couldn’t help but think about all the kids who don’t get to laugh as much as they should because of myriad reasons that aren't funny at all.

Which is why I kept this project going to benefit NicksKidsFund after we finished sending prizes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We’re helping give some smiles, if not laughter, to the kids who need our help the most. Helping them seize the day. And see that there is some hope.

And now I’ll quit trying to be overly profound and get on to the real business at hand. Codes.

Thanks if you’ve donated any at all. Thanks if you plan to. Here’s how: Send the 12 or 15 digit codes on bottles or 12-packs or cases of Coke products to HelpAKid. And the kind people from Nick's Kids Fund will distribute the "prizes" as they see fit.

Still waiting on the receipt letter from the prizes we sent to St. Jude Chilidren's Research Hospital to come in that will prove to all the naysayers that this project is legit.

Thanks. And remember to keep smiling.
