Eat well. Be well. Do better things: The Recipe.

It comes from somewhere deep in the bayou where you wouldn't wanna go if you weren't an alligator, at least, but I promise it's worth the end product if you've got the time/patience to make a roux (1.5 hours minimum— good forearm strength is a plus).

Anyway, this is what I'm gonna be making this weekend. It's gonna make me feel better. Make alot of other people feel better. And hopefully put some of that better feelingness out into Oprah's "The Secret" world. And if that means a few Coke codes sent the way of me/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital kids, then we'll all smile a bit bigger.

ps— you'll have to excuse the slave thing. it lends a sad, yet tasty, credibility to the restaurant— the slave person who wrote it down with that title some 100 years ago (I asked the owners, who restaurant washed away in Hurricane Katrina), maybe meant it as a big slap in the face to whoever they gave it to back then. We've come a long way since then, thankfully.

And thanks for all your help so far. Just remember to keep smiling.
